D-Glutamic Acid, Glutamic Acid

An ingredient that improves skin, hidden away in the skin of babies.
D-glutamic acid is one type of D-amino acids discovered by Shiseido for the first time in the world to be present in very small amounts in skin. It is also called "baby amino acid" because of its high content in the skin of babies. It is characterized by promotion of barrier function recovery of the stratum corneum that protects skin moisture. It is gradually lost with age, and from the 20s onward rapidly decreases to about one-third the amount in infancy. Shiseido applies this ingredient to skin care cosmetics.
